Hi everyone,
I will be stepping away from my roles as a child and survivor advocate as well as an author on child liberation theology, evangelicalism, and homeschooling for the time being. For those unaware, I have experienced some significant life changes over the last few years, including working as an Election Specialist for my county since 2020. What was once merely volunteer work has become an all-consuming professional job—as election work tends to go.
I help train over 1,200 election officers for every major election. This is a complicated and intricate process that takes many months to prepare for as well as execute. I personally create the training curriculum and workbooks, the class schedules, and the safety and security protocols for our Vote Centers.
As you can imagine, working in elections has become increasingly demanding and stressful since 2020. My workload and hours reflect those changes. I work overtime most of the time. I have very little time to advocate or write. So, I think it is best to not split my attention and energy, at least not in the months leading up to November.
We are living in dark times. I will continue to amplify and share content that is important. But I will not be creating content myself for a while—other than maybe an occasional poem. I just want you all to know why. I wish and hope for the best for all of you in the coming months. Hold tight to those you love and keep each other safe.
