The way that fundamentalists engage with people outside their communities is antithetical to dialogue. Yet fundamentalists are chomping at the bit to debate. This is because debate is not dialogue. Debate shuts down dialogue. The fact is, you cannot debate a fundamentalist out of fundamentalism. And fundamentalists know this. That is why they want to debate you.
