I’m publishing a book with Eerdmans!
I recently signed a contract with Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Company to publish a book on child liberation theology. Currently titled The Kingdom of Children, my book draws from sacred texts, other liberation theologies, educational pedagogy, and social science to break through the silence surrounding children and their undermined spiritual agency in America faith communities. It argues that not only is a child liberation theology necessary, but that it is possible for children to do that theology themselves. Like adults, children can be prophets, leaders, and theologians.
My Areas of Expertise:
Child Liberation Theology
My groundbreaking writings on child liberation theology have been featured everywhere from Patheos to Currents Journal to the Centre for the Study of Bible & Violence.
Acclaimed books on American evangelicalism—such as Julie Ingersoll’s Building God’s Kingdom and Kristin Kobes Du Mez’s Jesus and John Wayne—have cited my research and reporting on the evangelical homeschooling movement.
I have a Masters in Child Protection. I have helped both homeschooling organizations and faith communities develop child protection policies as well as educated such organizations and communities on best practices for child abuse awareness and prevention.
